So walking down the memory lane, I remember when I was young and I would feel neglected, I would feel down and depressed, I would feel like whole world is about to drop on me, I would feel unloved by my parents, I would feel like the black sheep of the family, I would feel like I was the ugliest and the most unwanted amidst my peers, I would run away from most of my peers and not want to be around them just because I felt I wasn’t good enough.
Meanwhile deep down I knew I was loved, I knew I was accepted, I knew I wasn’t the black sheep. But I just couldn’t help it, I just couldn’t stop feeling unloved, there are times I would just start crying not because anything is wrong with me or because anyone offended me but just because I feel left out, because I feel sidelined, and I wasn’t sidelined …..
I couldn’t pull myself out of this pit of continuous depression until I found “Hope”, and even after this it takes continuous reminder of this hope to keep me out of depression.
Inside of every human being there is a hope, a reason for our existence, and this hope is “Our anchor”, And until some of us find this hope, we are like a ship without an anchor, we just keep wandering around emotionally, what helps us keep our emotional mind stable is this anchor. In every human there Is hope which is an anchor for most human being.
Until I found this hope, I wasn’t able to keep my emotions in check. I kept feeling bad, my emotions kept getting the best of me, I couldn’t keep friends, I became unreceptive to people, I just didn’t want to be around anyone, sometimes I just didn’t feel like seeing anyone.
But the moment I found this hope, it became my anchor and ever since it’s been my checkmate. Am very sure by now you’re wondering what is this hope that is inside of you. Well this hope can be interchanged as your reason for existence, it is called “PURPOSE”
I would define Purpose in this context as the hope in which your mind, body and soul is anchored, which keeps you from losing your mind. Purpose, is the reason why you were created, it is what you live to do and build, it is what you look up to achieving. It’s could be the family you want to protect and guide from harm. It’s could be the goal you want to achieve, or you could put it this way. Purpose is the conviction you have that is strong enough to keep you from getting depressed and giving up.
Late doctor Myles Monroe said and I quote, “Until you’ve found purpose, you haven’t started living” For everyone who is in a situation like I was, I implore you please give life a chance, find hope, find that anchor that is strong enough to make you keep your heartbeat.
Find that drive that will be an anchor for your emotions, find that purpose that will stop you from going crazy.
And when you do write it down, keep it close to your heart, let it be on your lips, meditate on it, pray about it, share it with friends that can help you achieve it, be accountable and it will “be the hope in you”.
Inside you there is hope, find it, keep it and hold on to it because your sustainability depends on it.
